chat Did “Beat it!” Change the world?

Micheal Jackson, how weird and wonderful was he? He was so entertaining. To be honest with you – I thought his ’80s songs sounded better. The Thriller album had everyone imitating his moves and style.

The songs had guitars, catchy lyrics, good video’s, unusual dance moves, leather jackets, white socks for geeks and really great screams. The 80’s could be described as just Micheal Jackson and his moves. Everyone was hooked!

This song provided me with a boost for my exams. Let me help you with the lyrics because sometimes people think pop songs lack lyrics.

They told him, “Don’t you ever come around here.
Don’t wanna see your face. You better disappear.”
The fire’s in their eyes and their words are really clear
So beat it, just beat it

You better run, you better do what you can
Don’t wanna see no blood, don’t be a macho man
You wanna be tough, better do what you can
So beat it, but you wanna be bad

[Chorus]
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin’ how funky strong is your fight
It doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right

Just beat it, beat it [4x]

They’re out to get you, better leave while you can
Don’t wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man
You wanna stay alive, better do what you can
So beat it, just beat it

You have to show them that you’re really not scared
You’re playin’ with your life, this ain’t no truth or dare
They’ll kick you, then they beat you, then they’ll tell you it’s fair
So beat it, but you wanna be bad

[Chorus 2x]
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin’ how funky strong is your fight
It doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it

Beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin’ how funky strong is your fight
It doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right

[Chorus 3x]
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin’ how funky strong is your fight
It doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right

Just beat it, beat it
Beat it, beat it, beat it

You cannot feel depressed, oppressed, or suppressed reading those lyrics. It just feels right but really doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right!

Seriously, there was a lot of conflict in the world before 1983. It was as though these lyrics put a blanket on the whole matter and we became transfixed on enjoying ourselves. There were great films like Ghostbusters, Dirty Dancing and Flash Dance to entertain us. Life was okay back in the 80’s despite all the diasterous moments. I suppose we need a musical genius to come along and try to amaze us all again and make us feel good about enjoying life again.

Entertainment was value for money and even clothes were eccentric, stylishly modern for those times. Nowadays, we just copy the fashion of those times. We have no innovation. We have no creativity. Also, the hover boards are nothing like back to the future. Come on! We need to have some innovation!

Let’s face it, he was one of the breakthrough artists who could, mix genres and influence the whole world. Here we are sat here waiting for Simon Cowell and Co to produce talent when – Micheal Jackson just naturally wrote his own songs. Yes, he was black and had surgery. He still reached millions of ears around the globe.

“It does not matter if you’re black or white.”

Honestly, he just knew how to come back. So did Madonna, or, Elvis Presley.
Yes, Taylor Swift nearly had us! Not quite, apparently she did not write those lyrics after all. Very sad!

♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧

Events in 1983:

♧ Micheal Jacksons Beat It was released from the “Thriller” Album. The album remained at the top of the charts for 37 weeks.

♧ Crack Coccain was invented

♧ The A – Team premiers with Mr T

♧ At the 40 th Golden Globe awards: ET, Ben Kingsley and Meryl Strep won.

♧ Russia was called USSR and had nuclear underground tests.

♧ The most hilarious thing was the US had an Actor and President, Ronald Reagan

♧ Prince William was 1 and probably danced to Micheal Jackson.
You could say it was an event changing moment. Music had made a breakthrough by entertaining the whole world, ending some controversy. Please, do not think he ended all of it. I think the world could escape from problems far easier though, turning on the radio was the answer.
