David Bowie was Weird and Wonderful; will forever be known as thus!

I feel this man is like a timeless classic, an immortal and will be one of the unforgotten. He is actually weird and wonderful.

“I always had a repulsive need to be something more than human.”

It’s like an addiction to be defined as an artist; to have the talent and the ability to redefine yourself over decades. This man had that ability and he influenced so many beyond the 20th century.

My favourite song which is a duet is David Bowie and Queen. I am reflecting back on the lyrics because I feel we have a tendency to not realise, within ourselves the depths of inhumanity; even though we are human it takes more than that to signify some change amongst us. Even waging war to benefit the rich seems to be the agenda of tyrannical forces in every country; to be open minded and a little more humane is difficult.

If you have never heard Queen and David Bowie – please, find the time to listen to the lyrics and really feel the depths of being something more than human – to be humane is some quality that is hugely overlooked. Even the simplest of situations people over look people and think:

“There is no need!”

“Why can they not help themselves?”

“Why do we have to help other people?”

“Life hasn’t been fair to me, therfore, why should I care about my neighbour?”

“Haven’t seen the old lady down the street in a while maybe she has croaked it…. oh well!”

We all have needs and we all need to come together to resolve matters. We all have mobile phones or cellular phones; the Internet. We all have the power to be something more than human but it is the pressure of realising; we are not able to even help the people next door, or, the people around us that we fail to rise above the minimal level.

We are so submissive to money and so materialistic –  we would kill which is very innate and human, or, even considered as animalistic – just to get what we want.

The love disappears and is replaced with discrimination and these are humanistic traits. To rise above those basic levels of thinking we need to try harder. It takes so much effort. Once we lose the basic animalistic traits and create a discord in ourselves – our wellbeing ebbs away, it is like our conscience is forcing us to be something better. There is so much proof out there because we are able to look it up on the Internet many of us seldom do. There are people like Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung and Maslow to name a few; but we stop ourselves from discussing or learning because we want it to be on our terms now.

It’s ignorance which makes us stressed, or, panic at times, but, to be open minded takes a little more tact. I feel Bowie was able to stipulate the moments of connection of wellbeing and the notions of balance in people but they had become too greedy and too concerned about money.

War pays – but it doesn’t help the people in another country and it sure doesn’t help the people in your own country once the tax fund is depleated.  Education is neglected and healthcare. Why? It just creates more Pressure. Here are the lyrics to the song “Under Pressure”.

Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you, no man ask for
Under pressure that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets

It’s the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming, “Let me out!”
Tomorrow gets me higher
Pressure on people – people on streets

Chippin’ around, kick my brains ’round the floor
These are the days – it never rains but it pours
People on streets – people on streets

It’s the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming, “Let me out!”
Tomorrow gets me higher, higher, higher…
Pressure on people – people on streets

Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don’t work
Keep coming up with love but it’s so slashed and torn
Why, why, why?

Love

Insanity laughs under pressure we’re cracking
Can’t we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can’t we give love that one more chance?
Why can’t we give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love?..

‘Cause love’s such an old-fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure
Under pressure
Pressure
