“In the end people will judge you anyway, do don’t live your life trying to impress others. Live life impressing yourself.”
“Is it a painting or something else. What is it?”
”
No…. it is an abstract piece of art or an abstract piece of literature; it’s mine.” I said with a half a smile. I felt the judgement loom as a thick filled mist of doubt sways the mind. Everything had become foggy – it wasn’t good enough and this is it. No one could let you accept the piece of artwork but yourself.
Own and value your own work:
It’s mine; my feeling and passion went into my work. I did it because this is how I felt, this is how I interpreted life, or, the theory. It’s mine!
*******
You are more important than other’s. Why? What are you trying to prove to yourself?
I couldn’t give a monkey’s uncle; what anyone thinks, or, expels. When someone forces you to prove yourself every time – they are not worth it. Just be yourself.
At this apparent moment. I am thinking of the lyrics from Audioslave – “Be Yourself!”
Someone falls to pieces
Sleeping all alone
Someone kills the pain
Spinning in the silence
To finally drift away
Someone gets excited
In a chapel yard
Catches a bouquet
Another lays a dozen
White roses on a graveTo be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can doSomeone finds salvation in everyone
And another only pain
Someone tries to hide himself
Down inside himself he prays
Someone swears his true love
Until the end of time
Another runs away
Separate or united?
Healthy or insane? To be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
And even when you’ve paid enough, been pulled apart or been held up
With every single memory of the good or bad faces of luck
don’t lose any sleep tonight
I’m sure everything will end up alright
You may win or lose
But to be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
Why is this so important?
Everything is relevant; you may be going through a whirlwind in life. Just be yourself. I was myself for the last 2 years and I had such an amazing time. I have seen so many bands; felt inspired by music – travelled a lot of miles in my car. Participated in politics and felt inspired by other’s but I never lost myself. I was impressed at how much I have learned: despite the pitfalls. I suppose Chris Cornell, hits the heart of every individual.
Acceptance is not as important as your own achievements. I have achieved the most satisfaction even when my moments of sadness enveloped me.
I learned a new language and I am nearly – not quite advanced. Nearly…. just keep going and be myself. Love others for themselves. Just knowing I was alright from my experiences makes me feel happy to be myself.
What are your other beliefs?
I feel everyone should take a moment to sit back and realise what their belief is. Just because you could believe in the gates of Vahallhall or Ahala – it’s all okay. Even if you believe in Santa Clause, or, the tooth fairy; even Buddha. It’s up to you. You know who are – why explain yourself?
Being able to express who you are and be satisfied is so important. We live in a world where so many things are bleak for example A Blighty Tale : “Man driving a white van calls a woman fat; just read her remarkable letter to find out how her pain and anguish, was based on her doing an activity not to impress anyone else but herself.
It isn’t about telling children they should conform to a society that will always strive to impress.
It is about how you sleep at night knowing you never pushed a child to her own psychological breaking point… just to impress you. Why? Because it is your own concept you have pushed or your own beliefs on an individual who should grow up learning to accept themselves.
Is society beginning to become too judgemental?
I feel as though it is not a choice any more – the ones with the most will always win. We created this over dramatic society and I proved this when I wrote Why is life a Drama?
As I felt we needed Satisfaction, I asked: Why are we never Satisfied?
Deep down we will always be striving for perfection it is purely psychological. We need to recognise how much we have achieved and accept ourselves.
Even when times of loneliness enfold us; the serenity of accepting yourself: the doves call. Not really, but, you understand you have a weight lifted from your shoulders:” Be yourself!”
I went through a lot of painful moments and I impressed myself and I wanted to show it to other’s. I may have had the most traumatic experiences but I am able to over come it and be myself. I am a bit tired of the relentlessness but at least I am being myself. I even had my family not accept me for who I was at one point. I wasn’t trying to impress them – I was being myself.
Really does anyone know someone’s life story even on Facebook? Just be yourself. Letting people see you fall means, someone else may be going through the same situation and maybe they need help.
It’s good to be weird and wonderful! Say it with the compassion for yourself; a sense of better days.
